Bio
Born and raised in Northern California, Ali began her study of art at Sacramento City College and also under the realist painter Spencer Billington of Folsom, Ca. In 1988 Ali moved to the Boston area where she studied at the Boston Art Institute while working for Gorton’s of Gloucester as a graphic artist.
While in California, several galleries often referenced her mixed media paintings as wall sculptures. So in 1999 she jumped off the wall and began working with found objects and in 2000 began creating welded steel sculpture.
She now makes New Mexico her home after visiting Santa Fe and Taos when she fell in love with the light and subtle colors of the land. Her paintings and sculpture are in numerious pirvate collections.
